Common questions about removing a Google Ads account from your login list.
Google Ads requires every account to have at least one Admin at all times. If you are the only user with Admin access, the remove option will be unavailable until another Admin is added. Invite another email address with Admin rights first, then you will be able to remove your own email from the account.
The account remains fully active — removing your email only revokes your personal access. All campaigns, budgets, billing, and historical data stay intact. The remaining users with access continue to manage the account normally. Removing yourself has no impact on ad delivery or performance.
A decoy email is a Google account you control (such as a spare Gmail address) that you temporarily invite as Admin solely to satisfy the minimum-one-Admin requirement. Once it is added and you have removed your primary email, the decoy can remain as a backup Admin or be removed later if a permanent Admin takes over the account.
You need Admin access to remove other users. Go to Admin → Access & Security, find the user you want to remove, and click the delete (trash) icon next to their name. You cannot remove another Admin if they are the only remaining Admin on the account.
No. Removing your email from the account does not affect billing in any way. The payment method and billing settings remain tied to the account, not to individual user emails. If you want to remove a payment method, that must be done separately under Billing & Payments before or after removing your access.
Yes, but only if another Admin on the account re-invites your email. Once you remove your own access, you cannot add yourself back without help from a current Admin. If there is no one else to re-invite you, you would need to contact Google Ads support with proof of account ownership.
