Link Google Drive with Claude

Once connected, Claude can read and search your Google Drive directly from the conversation window. You can ask Claude to find documents, summarise file contents, extract data from spreadsheets, review Google Docs, and search across your Drive — all without leaving Claude. This makes it easy to reference your existing files, get quick summaries, and use Drive content as context when working on tasks with Claude.

The Customize option is found in the left-hand sidebar of the Claude interface at claude.ai. Click it to open the customisation panel, then select Connect your tools to browse and manage all available integrations including Google Drive.

Yes. Once connected, Claude can open and read the contents of Google Docs, Google Sheets, and other files stored in your Drive. You can ask Claude to summarise a document, extract key points, analyse spreadsheet data, or compare multiple files. Simply reference the file by name or ask Claude to search your Drive for it.

During the connection flow, you'll be prompted to choose which Google account to link. Claude connects to the Drive of that account. If you use multiple Google accounts, make sure you select the correct one during the authorisation step. You can reconnect at any time to switch accounts.

Go back to Customize → Connect your tools in Claude and find Google Drive in your connected integrations. Click the disconnect or remove option to revoke access. You can also remove Claude's access from your Google Account under Security → Third-party apps with account access.

Tool availability in Claude depends on your plan and region. If Google Drive appears in your Customize → Connect your tools list, it is available for your account. Claude Pro subscribers generally have access to more tools and higher usage limits. Check the Connect your tools section in your account to see what is currently available.
