Common questions about the template.

How do I find AI traffic data in GA4?

In GA4, go to Reports → Acquisition → Traffic Acquisition. Filter by "Session source" and search for each AI tool: chatgpt.com, perplexity.ai, claude.ai, gemini.google.com, and bing.com. Note the sessions, users, bounce rate and key events for each. Some tools (like ChatGPT) may also appear as direct traffic if they don't pass referral headers.

Does this work in Google Sheets?

Yes. Upload the Excel file to Google Drive and open it with Google Sheets. All formulas, charts and formatting carry over. You can then share it as a Google Sheets link with clients or teammates.

Which AI tools are included in the template?

The template includes pre-built rows for ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Bing AI, and a Total AI Traffic summary row. The template is fully unlocked so you can add or rename rows for any additional AI referral sources you track (e.g. Meta AI, Copilot).

What AI prompts are included?

Five structured prompts: weekly AI traffic summary by tool, performance-over-time analysis, traffic quality comparison (which AI tool sends visitors most likely to convert), client report narrative, and growth opportunity identification. Each prompt instructs you to upload or paste your data first, then asks for the analysis.

Do I need Excel skills to use this?

No. All formulas are already built in. You only enter numbers in the yellow input cells. Everything else — WoW change, totals, averages and charts — updates automatically. If you can type a number into a cell, you can use this template.
