Common questions about connecting Instagram to Meta Business Manager.
Connecting your Instagram account to Meta Business Manager lets you run ads on Instagram through Ads Manager, respond to ad comments, and manage your Instagram presence alongside your Facebook Page in one place. Without this connection, you can only use your personal Facebook profile to manage Instagram ads, which limits team access and reporting.
You can connect both personal and business Instagram accounts to Meta Business Manager. However, to run ads and access full analytics, it is recommended to convert your Instagram profile to a Business or Creator account first. You can do this inside the Instagram app under Settings > Account > Switch to Professional Account.
Yes. You can connect multiple Instagram accounts to a single Meta Business Manager. This is useful for agencies managing multiple clients or brands. Each Instagram account can then be assigned to a specific ad account and given access to specific team members via the People tab in Business Settings.
Common issues include two-factor authentication blocking the pop-up login — check your Instagram app or email for a verification code. If the pop-up is blocked, allow pop-ups from business.facebook.com in your browser settings and try again. If the Instagram account is already connected to another Business Manager, you'll need to remove it from that account first before adding it here.
After connecting the Instagram account, go to Business Settings > Accounts > Instagram accounts, select the account, then click the People tab. From there you can assign existing team members (users already in your Business Manager) and set their permission level. Only users with the correct permissions will be able to use that Instagram account when creating ads.
No. Connecting your Instagram account to Meta Business Manager only grants access for advertising and management purposes. Your organic posts, followers, and content remain completely unaffected. You can still post, story, and reel from the Instagram app as normal — Business Manager simply adds an advertising layer on top.
